 Folders

Folders change the way your folders are displayed and manipulated. The first time you use our new Webmail client, you may notice that folders you may have created in our previous Webmail version are not apparent in your Folder List. By following the steps below you can Subscribe to these folders and perform other similar functions.

Select Refresh Folder List after you make any changes so that they will be applied to both your Folder List and Message Index.

and To Create a Folder, simply type the desired folder name into the box, choose whether you want it to be a subfolder, and select the Create button.

Rename a folder by selecting the folder, selecting Rename, and providing a new name. You may rename any folder displayed in the drop down list box to the left of the Rename button. Notice that this list may not include all the folders displayed in the left frame. For obvious reasons, you cannot rename the Sent, Trash, or INBOX folders.

To Delete a folder select a folder and select Delete. You may delete any folder displayed in the drop down list box to the left of the Delete button. Notice that this list may not include all the folders displayed. The special folders such as your sent or your trash folder cannot be deleted, and of course, you cannot delete INBOX.

and Subscribe means to register a folder with the mail server, allowing you to view it in the folder listings. Unsubscribe is the opposite of subscribing. This unregisters a folder with the mail server. You may choose as many folders as you wish from either the subscribe or the unsubscribe box, then select the button under the box to make the action take effect. You will notice that the folders move to the other box. You can then re-subscribe to them, or unsubscribe again as you wish. It is recommended that you delete any folders that you feel you no longer need.

The Folder Sizes box is available by customizing your Folder Preferences. It provides information about the count and unread numbers for each subscribed folder, as well as the amount of disk space that each folder is utilizing. Remember, SouthEast Telephone customers are allowed 10 MB of space per e-mail account. By looking at the bottom line of the Folder Sizes panel, you can see your total disk usage.
