Display Preferences
Display Preferences allow you to change the way Webmail looks and displays information to you, such as the colors, the language, and other settings.

Note: This page is still under construction.

Webmail has several built-in color Themes that you can use.

The Custom Stylesheet option gives you several font options to choose from.

If English isn't your native tongue, you can easily change the Language displayed on most Web pages.

Although most of Webmail does not rely upon JavaScript, some features, such as the Address Book, do use JavaScript. If your browser supports it (most current ones do) you have the option of using pure HTML or Javascript. If you are sure what your browser will support, choosing Autodetect is a safe way to assure pages will be displayed correctly.

The Number of Messages to Index determines how many messages are displayed on each page of each folder.

Enable Alternating Row Colors to more easily scan your message index.

You'll want to Enable Page Selector so that you can view more than one page of messages in each folder.

Set the Maximum Number of Pages to Show determines how many pages of mail you want to have available.

Wraps incoming text at specifies how many characters should be allowed before wrapping the text. This prevents messages from scrolling off the screen. 86 is usually a good number to enter here, but you are free to change it to whatever you desire.

This specifies how wide you want your Compose box to be. This is the number of characters per line that you will be able to type before wrapping in the Compose section.

This specifies where the Addresses, Save Draft, and Send buttons are located in the < href="/tutorials/webmail/compose.php">Compose window.

Choose how you want the address book to be displayed. If you want maximum compatibility with all browsers, use HTML. Select JavaScript if you know your browser supports it. This setting will display a nicer address book.

If a message you receive is in both text and HTML format, you can choose if you want to see the HTML version (Yes) or the text version (No) by default.

This option turns on or off Enable Forward as Attachment when Reading a message.

This option turns on or off the option of including the recipients listed in the CC field of the original message when forwarding that message to someone else.

Reply All sends your reply to all recipients of the original message, including yourself. To leave your own e-mail address out, set this to No.

When viewing a message, this displays which email e-mail program the sender used.

If someone sends you a message with one or more images attached and you've set this to Yes, the images will be displayed right away when you view the message.

Printer Friendly Clean Display strips out unnecessary content so the message will print better.

This option turns on or off the option in Compose view that enables Mail Delivery Notification. When checked (and if supported by the recipient's e-mail program) you will receive a confirmation e-mail when the recipient receives and/or reads your message.

Compose Messages in New Window will open a new window each time you select the Compose command.

You can set the Width and Height of the Compose Window in pixels. The default values are fine for most users.

When you reply to or forward a message and include the text from the original message, you can choose whether you want to Append the Signature before the quoted text or after.

This will Enable Sort by Receive Date, which can help you better organize your messages chronologically in your Message Index. This can, however, slow down your client, particularly if you have a large number of messages.

This will Enable Thread Sort by References Header, which can help you better organize your messages by sender in your Message Index. This functions as the Group/Ungroup by subject and sender link.

The first drop down box enables the Username Box that appears in your Folder List. The second drop down box allows you to customize its placement.

This option allows you to turn on or off the Webmail Tip that appears above your Message Index when you first login to Webmail.

You can set where you want the Delete, Move, and Next be situated in each window.

This option allows users of Internet Explorer to utilize an Autocomplete function in Compose view that will search your Address Book for matches to the first few letters of the entries you type in your To, CC, or BCC fields. You can choose to match Nicknames and/or Full Names. The option below allows you to specify case-insensitive searches, meaning that Autocomplete will work with either uppercase letters or their lowercase equivalents.

This group of settings provide options for the Notify Popup, which can be launched from a link in your Folder List. You can specify how often in minutes (from 1 to 30) that you want the popup window to query Webmail to see if you have new mail. You can also choose whether or not to play a sound, if you have computer speakers, when new mail arrives.

This check box specifies whether or not you want the Small Calendar to appear at the bottom link of your Folder List.

The remaining options for the Small Calendar in your Folder List control the color scheme for the different days, how the calendar is separated from your other content, what size it is, and which calendar to use if you have multiple Calendars. The Small Calendar has been customized to best fit in with the rest of the interface, so if you would like, you can choose to leave all these options at their defaults.

Be sure to select the Submit Changes to Options button to save any changes you make on the Display Preferences page. You may have to refresh the window for the changes to take place.
