Richmond Webcam Launches

Known for its promotion of Kentucky through live Webcams, Pikeville-based telecommunications company SouthEast Telephone has partnered with Spectra-Tel Wireless and the City of Richmond to launch a live Webcam located on the southern edge of the Commonwealth's beautiful Bluegrass Region in Richmond, Kentucky.

Doug Justice, owner of Spectra-Tel Wireless, along with Richmond City Manager, David Evans, assisted Jerry Castle, SouthEast Telephone Agent Development, and SouthEast Telephone's Network Operations in the launch of the new Webcam.

The view from atop the Bell Tower shows downtown Richmond. The Webcam can be accessed from KyWebcams.com and also from KyHometown.com.

"We were really pleased to team-up with the city and SouthEast Telephone to offer this great service in Richmond," said Justice.  "This is an outstanding way to promote our community."

Part of SouthEast Telephone's KyWebcams.com and KyHometown.com, the newly installed Webcam in Richmond gives Internet viewers a chance to check out the town before visiting.

SouthEast Telephone's marketing director, Bambi Phillips, said Webcams give viewers a unique, down-home snapshot of the community. 

As you visit the each community homepage, take time to view the photo galleries. The albums are full of pictures from various events and locations within the surrounding areas. Each Webcam community also features a broad selection of Web links that promote local interests such as county government, tourism and local business.

"SouthEast Telephone is a Kentucky-based, Kentucky-focused company, so when we developed our Web site, www.setel.com , we also wanted to find a way to promote Kentucky and draw attention to all of the beautiful places that are located here," said Phillips. "We feel that our Webcams are an effective way to do that."
